His dc lists him as George A Long and says s/o Samuel De Long and Sharlot (sic) Rarick.

A woman named M K Harriot bought an old Bible and found these inscriptions in it of the family of George A DeLong and Emma J Mertz. Even though she is not of this family, she recognized that this information may be highly valuable to someone and was kind enough to find me and make a transcription of the information for me to include here.
A few of the dates don’t agree with what I have, so I’ve not changed any dates in my database, though if the Bible had a date I didn’t have, I have added it. That’s not to say that I believe what I have over the Bible, I’m just not sure in the case of conflicts which is the more accurate. One of the most interesting aspects of this Bible is that the spelling of the name apparently was DeLong although in one or two instances, it was given as Long even in the Bible. I always thought the name was Long from all sources I had seen.

Emma J is listed by all sources as a daughter of George and Amelia and confirmed as such by Census. She married George A Long and I think I have traced them up to 1910 in Northumberland Borough. They had two children.
