Parent-Proof notes for GGM Margaret Ruth Pearce
The 1880 Census ties Margaret Ruth Curry to Josiah Pearce and previous Census listings tie in Elizabeth Ann Wright as his wife and her mother.

Also, the 1890 deed lists Maggie R Curry, wife of James T, as one of the heirs of Josiah Pearce.
Census History notes for GGM Margaret Ruth Pearce
She is present in her father’s household in 1860 and 1870 and also 1880 by which time she is married and has one year old son James with her. In 1900-1920 she lives with her husband and then in 1930 she lives with her daughter Betty Farnum in New Freedom.
My Comments notes for GGM Margaret Ruth Pearce
I would assume that this is the Margaret for whom our Mother was named, and she most certainly was named for her two grandmothers -- Margaret Wilgis and Ruth Sparks.
Find-a-Grave notes for GGM Margaret Ruth Pearce
Her obituary says she died at a hospital in Towson, Maryland.
Parent-Proof notes for James Thomas (Spouse 1)
In the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census, J T lived with his parents. He was also named in his mother’s will.
Relocated notes for James Thomas (Spouse 1)
In the 1920 Census, James and Margaret were living on Third Street in New Freedom. James was 72, Margaret 64. Carl LeRoy had not yet moved to New Freedom, he lived in Maryland. Ultimately, Carl LeRoy and his family did become neighbors of James Thomas on Third Street in New Freedom and all were buried together with all but one of LeRoy's siblings.
Research notes for James Thomas (Spouse 1)
From the Stewartstown News 6 Jul 1906. Mr and Mrs J T Curry gave a party at their home in Locust Vale in honor of their daughter Lillian Curry and their niece Mary Kohler. Among the (30 or so) attendees were: Lida Slade, Leroy Curry.
My Comments notes for James Thomas (Spouse 1)
James Thomas was tough to find in the available Census records. With Becky’s help, I found him listed as James C Corry in the 1880 Census. He lived with his sister and brother-in-law in York County though his wife Margaret was found living in Baltimore County with her father and young son James I(rving), Carl LeRoy's older brother. I think this was simply a situation having to do with her having had a new baby or perhaps his having found temporary employment. W H Curry says that James was a farmer, but only in 1910 was that his reported occupation. In 1900, James was a day laborer in York County, in 1910 a farmer in Baltimore County.

W H Curry said that James was a farmer, but only in 1910 was that his reported occupation. In 1900, James was a day laborer in York County, in 1920 a laborer/installer in New Freedom.
Children Names notes for James Thomas (Spouse 1)
The names of some of the daughters of James Thomas Curry and Margaret Ruth Pearce bring a vague memory to my mind but if I ever met any of them, I have little recollection. Lillian married Harry Williams, Betty married Arthur Farnum and had a son James (they called him Jimmy) and Ada remained, I think, unmarried.

There was one son other than Carl LeRoy and that was Irving who moved to Utah; I do have a recollection of him.

I maintain his find-a-grave memorial. His death certificate says his father was Kane Curry born in Harford County, MD and his mother Eliza Koller.
