Parent-Proof notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
I do not have proof that his father was Johann Adam, but I do believe that Johann Anton and Johann Stephen were brothers so I needed some name to put in as their father and his name came from researching Internet Family Trees. It may be wrong.
Relocated notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
IMMIGRANT. Anthon Kleckner, age 30, arrived Philadelphia 2 Oct 1753 on the ship Edinburg from Rotterdam, last Cowes (the same ship that John Henry Mertz of Mertz Church came on in 1737).

Once in America, Anthony apparently lived in three different places. He settled first in Germantown where many German immigrants first settled to perhaps learn the lay of the land and earn enough money to buy land. And then in about 1760, he moved to Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County and lived there until about 1774 by which time it was called Allen Township. About this time his wife died. He married second the widow Maria Catharina Stopp in about 1776. And at about that time, he moved to Moore Township, Northampton County where he lived out the remainder of his life.

Allen and Moore Townships are both a little north of Bethlehem.
Census History notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
1790. Anthony Klekner lives in More Twp, Northampton County and listed immediately next to him is George Deal -- but I do not know if that George Deal is or has anything to do with our ancestor George Diehl.

1800. Anthony Kleckner age 45+ lives in Moore Twp, Northampton County with a wife (presumably) also 45+. A younger Daniel Kleckner (Anton’s son) is also present in Northampton. According to the Francis Fox article, Anton married second Maria Catherine Stopp after his first wife died, explaining the presence of a wife in this Census record. George Diel is present in this same township.
Research notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
The will of Anthony Kleckner of Moore Twp, Northampton Co, takes care of wife Catherine (with great detail). He says he has had one child by her, that being Susanna. Elsewhere says he had eight children by his first wife and names them: Margaret (who is blind), John Nicholas, John, Daniel, Philip, Solomon, Christina (married to John Hechman who has offended him) and Elizabetha (wife of John Bingaman).
My Comments notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
The Francis Fox article in “PA Genealogical Magazine” gave quite a detailed history of Anthony. It acknowledged his immigration in 1753 and said he was born about 1723. It also said he came with his wife Elizabetha Margaretha (maiden name unknown) and two children: John and Margaret (who grew up blind). Finally, it tracked his movements, once in America, as stated above.
Children Names notes for 5G GF Johann Anton Kleckner
In addition to Solomon and Johannes who move to Mifflinburg, two other sons are named in records of the Scheonersville Church in Allen Township: Philip who married Elizabeth Huber (sister of Solomon’s wife Barbara) and Johan Nicholas who married second Anna Maria Seib 17 Apr 1786 and married third Barbara Schneider (single) 8 Jun 1790. Philip stayed in Allen Township and was still a communicant in that church as late as 1816.

From his will, we know Anthony had eight children by his first wife: Margaret (who was blind), John Nicholas, John, Daniel, Philip, Solomon, Christina (married to John Heldman who had offended him) and Elizabetha (wife of John Bingaman) -- all but John and Margaret presumably born in America. By his second wife he had Susanna. Three of these children -- John, Solomon and Margaret -- moved to Mifflinburg. Possibly daughter Elizabetha Bingaman moved too.
My Comments notes for Elizabetha Margaretha (Spouse 1)
Her last name is not given by Francis Fox. She is said to have been Elizabetha Margaretha Hirschbach, daughter of Nicholas, in an Internet Family Tree. I don’t know if that is true or not. In any event, it is believed that she married Anthony in Germany and most likely her parents did not emigrate.
