Parent-Proof notes for 6G GF John Hurst Jr.
In 1749, John Hurst of Baltimore County sold half of two tracts of land. These were the same two tracts that John Hurst and wife Hannah had sold half of in 1702. The obvious conclusion is that the younger John was the son of the older and since there were possibly two older John Hursts, that the one of interest was the one whose wife was Hannah.

The “Hursts of West Virginia” also concludes that John of Baltimore County was the son of John of Anne Arundel County whose wife was Hannah.
Relocated notes for 6G GF John Hurst Jr.
And at some point, John, the son, must have moved to Baltimore County.
My Comments notes for 6G GF John Hurst Jr.
There are seven mentions of the Hurst name in the records of St Margaret’s, Westminster Parish -- an Anne Arundel County church. Five were birth records and two marriage records. The births were Isaac 15 Sep 1687, Elizabeth 27 Feb 1680 (but probably 1690), John Jr. 2 Feb 1697, Edward 19 Jul 1700 and Bennett 24 Sep 1724.

Curiously, the only birth record which named the parents was that for Bennett whose parents were John and Mary. The timing, starting with that 1724 birth and working backwards, makes it seem quite a logical deduction that the parents were none other than the John who married Mary Fincks in May 1718 and that the father John was none other than the John Jr. born in 1697.
Parent-Proof notes for Mary (Spouse 1)
I do not know who Mary’s parents were. But I believe that her sister was Elinor Fincks who married Jonathan Culins as the Culins name continues to be associated with this family in later generations.

In addition to the birth of Elizabeth Culins which was listed immediately after the birth of Bennet Hurst in those St. Margaret’s Church records, the births of these additional Culins children were recorded as well: William 1725, John 1728, Keightly 1730 and Noble 1734.
