My Comments notes for Thomas Bass
I believe I have proven, to my staisfaction anyway, that the Rebecca Bass line leads to Joshua and then to Thomas and the Wayne County connection of these people is certain. And I think the Wayne County Bass family descends from Humphrey, Nathaniel, John and Richard Bass. But how? There are two versions of the connection you can find in Internet Trees and the many different books published about the Bass family.

One version says that Thomas was the son of Thomas (born in 1719) and Sophia and grandson of Richard and Mary Burwell. Another says he was the son of Andrew (died 1791) and wife Alice, grandson of Andrew (died 1790) and his wife also named Alice and great-grandson of Richard and Mary Burwell. Notice that both versions lead, ultimately, to Richard.

For a long time, the latter pedigree made more sense to me because Richard was born in 1658 and Thomas supposedly in about 1740, a span of 82 years. It just seems more likely that that span would be covered in two generations, not one.

And we know, from the Pension application of Priscilla, that Joshua was married by Andrew Bass, Esquire — whom I believe to be one and the same as Doctor Andrew Bass who in fact died in 1791 and was the son of Andrew and grandson of Richard. But Dr. Andrew Bass, Esquire was a very prominent person in early Wayne County and the subject of a fair amount of research in his own right and there is no indication whatsoever that he had any children other then daughter Alice to whom he left his entire estate.

As to the Thomas son of Thomas version, I actually contacted the compiler of that tree and he admits he has no real evidence for his version and that in the end it is just a guess.

But it sill seems, no matter what the actual links, that all roads lead to Richard and Mary Burwell and through Richard the Bass line traces back to John Basse who married the Native American princess and to Nathaniel Basse who came to the Jamestown, Virginia area in 1619 and there owned a large plantation.
My Comments notes for Sophia (Spouse 1)
Several Ancestry trees say her maiden name is Cordwainer, but that was a common occupation back in those das and I think people are simply confused.. I had the first name Sophia from other sources. None of this is proven.
