Jill D. Mertz, 48, of Paxinos, diedunexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011.
She was born Dec. 10, 1962, in Lompoc, Calif., a daughter of Charles and Jean (Lawrence) Schindler, of Danville. On May 19, 1984, she married David W. Mertz, who survives.
Jill was a graduate of Lewisburg Area High School.
She had been employed for many years at the Cameron Park Cafe, Sunbury.
She was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Northumberland, where she served as the treasurer.
Jill was a great wife and mother and was very active in her daughters' activities. She always put family, friends and others before her own personal needs. Jill enjoyed boating and traveling with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two daughters, Rachel A. and Rebekah E., at home; one sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Ken McCollum, of Danville; one niece, Colleen; and one nephew, Connor.
Burial will be at the convenience of her family at a later date in Riverview Cemetery.
