My Comments notes for Fletcher L Johnson
If you drive through the back roads of Sampson and Duplin County today, especially from Rose Hill to Harrells, almost every farm is part of Nash Johnson Farms, which is a major poultry farming operation.
According to the 1910 Census, Nash is the son of Fletcher Johnson -- as he is living with his siblings and with his mother Mary O Johnson, Fletcher having died. Nash was born in 1902.
Nash and Mary's Granny were second cousins. The current operators of the farms are probably Mary's 4th cousins (or maybe Stewart's fifth cousins).
One of the more interesting signs along the back roads of Sampson County is on the back road from Delway down to Harrell's (Herring Road) where a farm that I think may very well be the place where Nathan Johnson is buried is called "The Old Place". I think there's a great significance to that sign.
