Ann Mertz found me through my website. She became interested in her Mertz and Hummel ancestry and found the large Riverview monuments for George Peter Mertz and Benjamin Hummel and their wives. She also located and toured the original George Peter Mertz home (later the Norry VFW) and the original John Jacob Hummel home (the Rising Sun Inn) in Hummels Wharf. She sent me the picture of John Philip Mertz and family. And she also tipped me off that Victoria Woodhull Claflin was our cousin.
