Mary Herring's bible has many pertinent facts about her family. For one thing, she cleary states that her mother was Sarah Meredith -- it had long been thought in the family that Richard's wife was Sarah Anders. That misinformation apparently stemmed from the fact that many of Richard and Sarah's children married Anders.

She gives Richard's birth date as 10 Feb 1725 and new style 21 Feb 1726. Sarah was born 21 Dec 1732 new style 1 Jan 1733.

They married 21 Feb 1752.

Stephen Herring and Dicey Scott married 19 Sep 1799.

Richard Herring died 4 Apr 1803. Sarah died 19 Jun 1813.

Sampson/Duplin Revolutionary Records says she was Mary Ann and married Edward Spearman.
