We know Daniel as the son of Abraham from the 1850 Census and he is linked to him on find-a-grave. He is designated H1a2c.
Two other facts about Daniel are noteworthy. He was the D W Martz who wrote the letter referred to elsewhere saying his father was Abraham and his grandfather William. And it is really curious that Daniel’s wife was Mary Stout. Daniel’s grandfather William had a brother named Daniel who married Mary Stoudt. The two Daniels and the two Marys were generations apart age-wise, but the two Daniels were related. I have no idea if the two Marys were related or not.
