She was listed as Anna Rosina on the Mertz Church monument that honors John Henry and his family and named in her father’s will as Rosina intermarried with Jacob Seib.

Two baptisms at Schoenersville give me some solid evidence that I have correctly identified Heinrich of Allen Township. In one, Henry and Elizabeth Mertz sponsored the Lutheran baptism of John Seip, son of Jacob and Rosina. John was born 16 Jan 1786 and baptized 26 Mar 1786.

And the Reformed baptism of Heinrich Mertz, son of Heinrich and Elizabeth, was recorded 20 Jan 1782 with Jacob and Rosina Seip as sponsors.

She is on find-a-grave in the Burial Unknown category with a dod of 12 Dec 1814 and the same birth date as her baptism record. I think I mis-transcribed the death record of her husband in saying Rosina lived 49 years (or they had it wrong). I think she was 69 years of age. It also says Jacob lived as a widower 18 years — confirming, more or less, the 1814 death date for her and the 1831 death date for him.

There is another memorial for Rosina at Union West-End Cemetery in Allentown. Apparently her son John is buried there and someone has placed in front of his very old and hard to read tombstone a more modern marker saying gr-gr-gr-grandparents naming John Seip and his wife Rachel and then also naming John’s parents, Jacob Seip and Rosina Mertz (1745-1814).

Death record at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Easton, records for 1831: “Jacob Seip son of Johann Peter and Maria born in Sep 1741 in Germany Odenwald bap in this country in 8th year conf communed married Rosina Marz lived about 49 years 13 children 10 living 2d and 1 son died lived widower 16 years old age weakness died 24 grandchild 99 ggchild 74 90 years.”

The death before him was 18 Mar 1831, the one after 4 Apr 1831, I think he died 24 Mar.
