I think any local history book about the early days of eastern Long Island as well as any number of Ancestry Family Trees will cover this family in as much detail as may be desired. In fact, if you Google his name, you will find a lot of information as an earlier and apparently prominent member of this family had the same name.

Because of this fact, I did not bother to include Peletiah's ancestry, as I think it wil not be too hard to find out.

1850. Peletiah Fordham, post master age 62, lives in Southampton, Suffolk Co, NY with Maria 57, John 33, Rachel 26, Agnes 6 and Charles 32, Maria J 20 and Lawrence 8 months. From the order of the people as listed, it is clear that Charles is the son of Peletiah and Maria and that Maria J is his wife and Lawrence their son.
