My Comments notes for Hermanus Kuster
his is what I found on the Internet for Hermanus. Hermanus Kuster (who was probably the first of his family who abandoned the old German spelling of his family name and adopted the form now used by his descendants, Custer) was bom probably about the year 1675. [I have seen earlier and later dates too.] He came to America with his parents in the year 1684. He and his brother Johannes purchased 200 acres of land near Skippack, in what is now Montgomery County upon which they settled not long after the year 1700. The house is today on the National Register of Histroic Places, called Kuster Mill. It is in Evansburg, PA.
We know the names of his children from his will written 9 Jan 1760 proved 23 Feb 1760. They were: Gertrude, Margaret, Modlin, Rebecca, John, Paul and Peter. He also mentioned grandchildren Isabella and Barbara Tyson and sons-in-law Henry Umsted, Gesbert Bohrs, Henry Tyson and Henry Pennebaker.
