The various men named Daniel Collett have caused some confusion among researchers because there were several of them and their lives overlapped.
But I think the facts of life of this man are just not that hard to keep straight. His 1725 birth was recorded, son of Daniel and Ruth.
Since his father died in 1726, this was the Daniel, then age 24 who married Susanna McKenley in 1749. And also the Daniel who died in 1784 with wife Susan. And I have seen that she died in 1801 and passed land to her sons William and Stephen.
