Present in 1940 Census. Obituary gives names of her parents. “Radie A. "Rene" Smith, 77, of Church Drive, Northumberland, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Sunbury Community Health & Rehab Center.
She was born July 2, 1939, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Wilma A. (Diehl) Cahn.
Rene was a 1957 graduate of Northumberland High School.
She retired after many years of service from Moore Business Forms, Lewisburg in their finishing department.
She had attended the First Baptist Church, Northumberland and was a member of the Point Township Fire Company and the American Legion Post 44 where she served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Rene spent much of her time volunteering at the American Legion and Nottingham Village.
Rene led a very active lifestyle with activities that included golf, tennis, dart clubs and was also an avid bowler.
She was affectionately referred to as "Nina" by those who loved her including, her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Jo and Dwight D. Mull, of Northumberland; son and daughter-in-law, Todd D. and Karla J. Smith, of Selinsgrove; two granddaughters, Kilene Smith-Knitter and husband Alex, and Candice Smith; two great-granddaughters, Sienna C. Foust and Addysyn K. Bennick; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Robert and Kathy Cahn, of Uniontown, and Dr. Richard and Shirley Cahn, of Allentown; her former husband, Lear Smith, of Shamokin Dam; and her many close friends she made throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle A. Foust; one brother, John E. "Jack" Cahn; and two sisters, Jane Oberdorff-Cahn and Jean Lee.”
