Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for Levi Mertz (H6a6b)
We know Levi as the son of Edward from his presence in his father’s household in 1850 and 1860. He is designated H6a6b.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for Levi Mertz (H6a6b)
Levi is on find-a-grave. There is an extensive biography for him there. The interesting thing to me is that it says his forbears came to America in 1732. I would say John Henry Mertz was his immigrant forbear and he came in 1737.
But it is possible that John Henry had a brother John George who came in 1732. Did Levi believe he descended from John George and knew the date of his immigration? Or, was the 1737 date just lost to his history and it became 1732 in their family tradition as it got relayed from generation to generation?
Parent-Proof notes for Lydia A (Spouse 1)
She was the daughter of Henry and Eva Faul per her find-a-grave memorial.
