Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for John Frederick Martz (P1c1b)
We know John as the son of John from his presence in his father’s household in 1850 and 1860. In addition, his death certificate says so. He is designated P1c1b.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for John Frederick Martz (P1c1b)
I was unable to find John in 1870 and 1880. The name was too common to be sure any were him without some additional identifying information. His death certificate says he died in Lycoming County so I know it’s him in 1900 in Williamsport. He was married to Josephine (who was the informant on his death certificate).

So then a search for Josephine clarified things. In 1870 and 1880, he was listed as Frederick or Fredk S and he lived in Milton. Since his death certificate gave his name as John F S and since his wife always was Josephine, I’m sure it was him.
Death and Find-a-Grave notes for John Frederick Martz (P1c1b)
John Frederick was not on find-a-grave but I found record of his burial in a transcription of Harmony Cemetery by Joseph A Meiser and so I added him. His death certificate said he was to be buried in Milton.

Josephine was also listed on the Meiser transcription.
