Parent-Proof notes for Norma Bolig
Norma Bolig Teel, 90, of 841 Woodmont Road, Annapolis, Md., died March 29, 2018, at home after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Lewistown, Pa., the first child of Robert M. and Lois (Mertz) Bolig. She had one brother, Robert M. Jr., and one sister, Lois Ann.
Norma graduated from Northumberland High School in 1945 and went on to Drexel, where she studied Home Economics. There she met Jack, whom she married in 1948.
She worked throughout high school at Gubin's, the local Northumberland shoe store, then briefly after college at department stores in Philadelphia.
Norma and her husband Jack lived in Philadelphia and its suburbs from 1948, when they were married, through 1972, when they moved to Arcadia, Calif. After 27 years in California, they moved to Annapolis to be near their daughter and grandson. While living in Ridley Park, Pa., in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Norma found one of her greatest satisfactions volunteering at the Ridley Park Public Library. She was a passionate reader, and her homes were filled with books. She was a talented home decorator, and well-versed in the needle arts. She made delicious, nutritious meals but hated cooking. Norma and Jack also traveled the world during their 65-year marriage. Hers was a life well-lived.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Teel Morrison; grandson, Peter Teel Morrison and his wife Jamie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
