Parent-Proof notes for Mary Mertz
The death certificate of Wellington Mourey (Maurer) says his father was Michael and his mother Mary Martz. Wellington was born in Roaring Creek in 1848.
In the 1850 Census, Abraham Martz, age 65, lived with Michael and Mary Maurer and their 2-year old son Wellington (and two other children) in Roaring Creek.
Michael and several of his children including Wellington are buried in the same cemetery as Abraham.
I found the marriage of Michael Maurer to Miss Maria Mertz, both of Roaringcreek on the 3rd inst in the 7 Mar 1840 Columbia Democrat newspaper of Bloomsburg.
