His full name comes from the Iowa delayed birth record of Lewis Melvin Martz born 3 Feb 1880 who said his father was Dennis Jackson Martz born abt 1848 in Summerset (sic) Co, PA and his mother was Sarah Marguerite Hart. Dennis is designated H2a6b.

By 1870, he had left Pennsylvania and moved to Coldwater, Butler Co, IA where he was said to be a teacher and living with Jacob and Catherine Noss. Their immediate next door neighbor was Jacob R Martz, Dennis’ brother, also said to be a School Teacher. (I also notice several families named Sturtz living nearby.)
