There is a find-a-grave memorial for John Alfred Calhoun MD buried at the Confederate Cemetery in Fredericksburg, VA where his parents and his wife are also buried.

Following the links on find-a-grave his ancestry can be traced to:

his father John Alfred Calhoun (1863-1953), his grandfather James Caldwell Calhoun (1830-1866), his great-grandfather John Alfred Calhoun (1807-1874), his 2G-grandfather James Calhoun (1779-1843), his 3G-grandfather Patrick Calhoun (1727-1796) and then two more generations that get this family back to their Irish roots.

There are some interesting biographies on find-a-grave for several of these ancestors where it can be learned that John Alfred Calhoun (1807-1874) was a signer of the South Carolina Ordinance of Secession and also that Patrick Calhoun was also the father of John Caldwell Calhoun, the 7th Vice President of the United States

The latter is perhaps better known fro is life as a U S Senator. This, from wikipedia: In U.S. politics, the Great Triumvirate (known also as the Immortal Trio) refers to a triumvirate of three statesmen who dominated American politics for much of the first half of the 19th century, namely Henry Clay of Kentucky, Daniel Webster of Massachusetts and John C. Calhoun of South Carolina.

All of which just begs the question of whether Daniel Webster was any kind of kin to Hollis Webster. I think I considered the possibility some time ago when I was researching Hollis’ ancestry and didn’t get very far. Couldn’t rule it in, couldn’t rule it out.
Find-a-Grave notes for Dr John Alfred Calhoun Jr
Even though his tombstone says 1902-1976, find-a-grave says 4 Jul 1896-Jan 1976. There was a John Calhoun who died in Colorado with those dates, but that is the wrong John Calhoun. The real SSDI record for this John Calhoun says 6 Jul 1902 to Feb 1976 and he his last residence was Swarthmore, PA.

Strangely, the guy who maintains his find-a-grave memorial refused to fix the error when I brought it to his attention because I wasn’t giving him an exact dod. I think obituaries are available on newspapers.com but since I don’t subscribe I cannot be sure but I think he died on or just before 11 Feb 1976.
Parent-Proof notes for Helen Fordham (Spouse 1)
Her find-a-grave memorial states her full name, Helen Fordham Webster, and says she was the wife of John Alfred Calhoun who she is buried next to.
