Parent-Proof notes for Abraham Rubendall
Abraham Rubendall was a popular name in Northumberland County.
One that I encountered a lot was born in 1800 and died in 1843, he married Magdeala Carl. He’s on find-a-grave buried in Red Cross. He’s not the one of interest. His 1843 wil said he had ten children.
In Census, I can find no one of that name in 1790-1810 and then in 1820, an Abraham Rubendall appears in Upper Mahanoy Township. He was 26-44, his wife 16-25 (Maria born in 1791?) and he has 2 nales and one female all under th age of 10. Could one of the males be son Abraham, age about 4 or 5.
In 1830, Abm Rubendale lives in Upper Mahanoy Township. He is 30-39 as is his wife and they have 10 children including young children a ell as a male 15-19 and a female 10-14. So is this th Abraham who died in 1843.
In 1840, Abraham Renbenthal lives in Jackson Township. He is 40-49 as is his wife 30-39 and they have posisbly 7 children So is this th Abraham who died in 1843.
In 1850, we find Abham Rabendale age 34 in Jackson Township with wife Eiza and Ellen age 8 and Henry age 3. He’s like one page removed from Maria Malick. And there is another new-norn Abraham Rubendate, also in Jackson Twp, son of Peter and Susannah.
In 1860, the older of those two Abrahm’s had moved to Shelby County, Iowa, the carrythorugh being his wife was stll Eliza and the ages of Abraham and Eliza were consitent with 1850. N childrn were rpesent.
And then 1870 was the cloicnher. Abr and Eliza Rubnedall are in Fariview Township, Shelby County, of the right ages and on the ame page we findnone other tnan Jremiah Malick, son of Maria. That cannot be coinicinde. It gies everything together. Abrahma in Jackson in 1850 moved to Ioa by 1860 and was joine dthere by 1870 by his, what, step-brother, I’m thinking.
One other item. In the Aoril Term of the Northumberland County Orphans Court, Abraham Rubendall submitted a petition saying he was one of the sons of Abraham Rubendall and he was a minor above the age of 14 reuqesting a guardain to then place him with someone to learn a trade. Benjamin Hine as so apoin ted.
Abraham is on find-a-grave with born 26 Jul 1815 died 1 Jun 1875 and buried in Shelby County.
I wondered if Peter Rubendall was another son of the deceased Abraham. He was born in 1824. I think he was a son of the Abraham who died in 1843.
