We know Jacob as William’s brother from the 1850 and 1860 Census and all logic suggests they were sons of John. Jacob is designated P5b1c.
Jacob and Isaac would appear to have been born two months apart and interestingly they were both reported as age 8 in 1850 and age 19 in 1860. I wonder if the date of birth for one or the other is wrong and perhaps they were twins.
