I know the names of Nicholas' wife and all of their children and I can infer their birth order as they are listed in the same order consistently in several Orphan's Court petitions. Whether Catherine is older than Jacob is not clear, but they were the two oldest. If Nicholas married in, say, 1735, then his first child may have been born in about 1736. So I have made Catherine the oldest, born in 1736.

In his "North'd Co Pioneers -- Martz/Mertz", Joseph Meiser lists all these same children in the Orphan's Court order and assigns birth years to them uniformly two years apart. I think there is little basis for any of his dates other than to give approximate years based on Nicholas' approximate marriage date and known death date and each child's minor or adult status at the time of Nicholas' death.

The Orphan's Court filings refer to Catherine as deceased leaving her son Bernard as the rightful heir. Bernard Kline died in Union County in 1837 where he had brought his family before 1810. His wife died in 1850 in Kratzerville which may well be where they lived the whole time.
