Obituary on find-a-grave. Rachel Dorkus Raker, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009. She had been in ill health for two years.
She was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Byron M. Sr. and Laura M. (Dailey) Mertz. On Feb. 19, 1945, in Hagerstown, Md., she married Edward R. Raker Sr., who preceded her in death on April 4, 1999.
She is survived by one son, Edward Raker Jr., of Northumberland; one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Charles Rebuck, of Paxinos; three grandchildren, Ronald Carey, Jessica Carey and Rachel Rebuck; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Carey and Joseph Aliberto; four brothers, Russell Mertz, of Pine Grove, Kenneth Mertz, of Coal Township, Jack Mertz, of Northumberland, and Thomas Mertz, of Danville; and three sisters, Lucille Dimmick and Frances Weaver, both of Coal Township, and Lois Walburn, of LeMesa, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Raker, on Feb. 18, 1969; two brothers, Byron Jr. and Joseph Mertz; and three sisters, Cleo Mertz, Ruth Snyder and Margery Stametz.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
