Catherine Potee married James Whitaker in 1763. Lewis Potee whose wife was named Sarah when he died named daughter Catherine Whitaker in his will. I believe this was the Lewis Potee who married Sarah Meadows in 1754, who could not have been the mother of Catherine. I further believe that the Lewis Potee who sold land inherited by his wife Katherine Green daughter of Matthew was this same Lewis and Katherine Green was the mother of several if not all of Lewis’ daughters.
