I am guessing he was John’s son, though he wasn’t living with him in 1850. (There was a David Hoshal age 24 living as a laborer in Shrewsbury, PA, single, probably him.) He married in 1857 and in 1860 was said to be age 34, thus born about 1826, which would make him the oldest son.

It was David Hoshall (and John T Ensor, a lawyer I believe) that John Hoshall turned to when he “went bankrupt”. He deeded them all his property for them to sell and pay off his debts.
