Alicia Blackman found the 1825 deed that tied the Schissler family together and provided the final evidence, as far as I’m concerned, that Jacob Martz who married Elizabeth Schissler was the brother of David Martz who married Magdalena Schissler. I had long thought they may have been brothers based on the possibility that they married sisters -- now it is certain they did marry sisters, which not only makes that connection but clearly places Jacob in Augusta Township (to have been geographically in the right place to meet Elizabeth) before he moved to Columbia County.
