Research notes for Capt Samuel (Spouse 1)
Samuel was a blacksmith like his father. His principal employment however seems to have been agriculture. In 1720, his father conveyed land to him in Woburn, he also had real estate in Stoneham in 1726 and 1727 but he seems to have been allured to Braintree by the good success of his brother Thomas in that town. He removed there in the summer of 1729.

He was a Captain in the militia. Like his father and brothers, he seems to have been a man of capacity and energy, though his property was not large.

Capt Samuel Vinton was a stout, fleshy man and on an excessively warm day he was pitching hay, became very much heated, and drank too much cold water, which occasioned his death.
