The New Hampshire genealogy book says he removed about 1695 from Weymouth to Braintree.
There is a memorial for him on find-a-grave.
John is not mentioned in the Vinton book.

Research notes for Mary (Spouse 1)
The New Hampshire genealogy says that John Hollis married Mary, whose maiden name may have been Yardley.
There are memorials for John and his wife on find-a-grave and there it says she was in fact Mary Yardley, daughter of John and Dorothy (Thayer) Yardley.
And there is a memorial for Dorothy (Thayer) Yardley on find-a-grave which gives enough biographical information so it is clear she is the Dorothy Thayer covered in the Vinton book.
Now, nothing on find-a-grave provides any documentation of the assertion that Mary was really named Mary Yardley or that proves that Dorothy Thayer was her mother. On the other hand, I don’t know anything that would suggest it is not true. But I find it interesting that when I decided to go beyond the Vinton book to learn a little more about the Hollis family that path of research led to a connection back into the Vinton book.
