Birth, Parent-Proof, Designation notes for Samuel Marts (P5e2c)
We know Samuel as the son of Charles from his presence with Charles in the 1860 Census, He was born in 1851 and so just misses my pre-1850 cutoff for persons I feel compelled to track but I make an exception for Samuel since Eric Marts, whose wife is Hannah, is a descendant.

Hannah has shared her findings with me on some of the Indiana Marts family and the closely related Pickaway County, Ohio Martzes as well. Plus, Eric’s father is a participant in the Mertz-Martz DNA Project.
Relocated and Census Tracking notes for Samuel Marts (P5e2c)
In 1860, Samuel lived with his parents in Iowa, in 1870 he was listed in Kansas working on the railroad.

In 1873, Samuel married Martha Mauck in Holt, Missouri. They were reported on the 1875 Kansas Census with 3-month-old son Charles W in Doniphan County, Kansas.

By 1900 the family had moved to Nebraska. I cannot find them in 1880.
